Poem by Tian Yu

Filipino Translations by Eden Soriano Trinidad

Bumalik Ka ng Walang Kibo

 Muling ngumiti

Ayaw kong magpuyat ngayong gabi
Subalit sinasaklot ng kalungkutan ang aking mundo.

Habang nananatili akong gising,

Turn Around Like No Action

Smile Again
I don’t want to sleep late at tonight,
But the sobriety takes over the whole world.

The more I wake up,
the sadder I feel,
Even with a brief smile,
Also like the stars and the moon with the cold.

I don’t want to sleep late at tonight,
But the sobriety takes over the whole world.
The more I wake up,
the farther away from tomorrow,
Even with a brief smile,
Also like the stars and the moon with the cold.
Smile again,
I wish I could dry my tears
and go to tomorrow,
Sunny my heart won’t change in sorrow.

Smile again,
I wish there is a smile in the mirror,
My heart is like a breeze without the cold.

Tomorrow must be a sky in blue,
And with my natural ease of soul,
Let my moving always stay in the eyes as the lord.

Poem by Mohammad Mohi Uddin

If You Touch

Touch, if you touch-
Cinders will turn into evergreen leaves,
Decayed hands of inclusive Shahara will be shaped into woodland.
Touch, if you touch-
Worm eaten voice will be changed into a delicate tone,
Dead cognition will be volant through the heart of wind.
Touch, if you touch-
The wings of wax will be colored into mercury’s fins,
Inanimate bamboo’s yard will bestrew melodies,
The pannikin of poison will be filled with the petal of roses.
Sharpened poniard will have become the celestial sword,
Series of billow will be aroused in the bleak sand-bed,
Someone will step in across the impassable rocky path.
Touch, if you touch-
Wasteland will be affluent with cultivated crops,
The crimson sun will bring out the beauty of twilight,
The shore’s girl will draw a cute smile on her face exposing hair,
The tomb’s plant will expand its twig over clouds,
The vows of the circle will be universal and endless.
And everyone will realize the skyline is over the wall.
Touch, if you touch-
Cinders will turn into evergreen leaves,
Decayed hands of inclusive Shahara will be shaped into woodland.

Skenës…!
Ngjitesh në një skenë aktrimi
ku vetëm zëri i paskuintave ka mbetur
jehonë e personazheve të njohur,
biblikë në madhështinë e tyre
ardhur nga muza e Eskilit
rendur Eurupidit, Molierit e Shekspirit
me frymë kozmetike

What’s sublime, after all
Is a piece of prose or poetry;
It is a bright home of Zen philosophy
Where
There are glittering doors and windows
Comprising of the most serious consciousness of the world

Excerpts from the 2nd Book of 108 Zen Poems
Translated from Nepali by Mahesh Paudyal

1.
A tree
That was falling at the blow of innumerable strikes,
Never knew
The axe felling it had a handle
Made from one of its own branches.

2.
When the issue of dividing the legacy came up
They had hard times sorting things out;
For, their old parents
Didn’t fall in anyone’s share.

3.
It is certain that death grabs everyone
But the rich thus make fun of him—
“He died because he was very poor.”

4.
At Aryaghat[1]
There was no corpse
Being cremated with a wad of cash.

5.
The mountain looks better without organs
As does a flower;
It too doesn’t have a part
That exposes its honor!

6.
 I counseled him much;
Did all I could to appease him
But nothing of the sort worked
For, Yamaraj[2] refused to be bribed.

7.
I can’t tell for sure
If the faggots you gathered
Would cook the dinner this evening
Or cremate a corpse at the river bank.
This is the only truth—
When the faggots catch fire
The smoke that curls up is of the same color
And the same is the color of ash.

MAN AND WOMAN

Man meeting woman
Is nothing but universal.
Sacred and pure
ever since the very beginning.

The chemistry at first
causes wild fire;
the fire of passion
that will last for seasons

Their hearts shall melt
fusing into one;
these fits of passion
can spark and flash,
blossoming into new life,
to fill the world with more
passionate men and women.

The communion
that secretes a healthy relationship
should never be doubted;
it is so very natural
but never to be forced upon.    N

 LALAKI AT BABAE
Ang pagtatagpo ng babae at lalaki
Ay pangkalahatan.
Ito ay sagrado at dalisay
Mula pa sa pasimula ng buhay.

Ang matinding atraksiyon sa simula
Ay nagpapasiklab ng apoy;
ang nagpapadarang ng init
Na nagtatagal lamang ng ilang panahon

Ang kanilang mga damdamin ay natutunaw
Nagsasanib;
Ang matinding silakbo ng damdamin
Ay nakapagpadarang at nakapagpapaliyab
Mamumukadkad ng panibagong buhay,
Upang punuin ang daigdig ng mas
Marami pang mga madamdaming mga lalaki at babae

Ang pagsasanib
Na nagpapalusog na relasyon
Ay hindi dapat pagduduhan
Ito ay natural lamang
Subalit kailanman ay huwag daanin sa sapilitan

    Follow the stars
    Friday,18th June 2020

    Follow the starts at night
    and feel right
    about its emergence
it is to feel no tense

give freedom to thoughts and action
think positive and offer no reaction
    eat and be merry
as morning awaits to be carried

    following everything
    but disregard nothing
everything is placed in the right position
you got to adjust with re-composition

    if day doesn’t yield
    the noon should be hold
    with whatever you can!
nights should be run for refuge

    such is our journey
with sky above and an almighty
we are no where to match
    but can certainly catch
